On April 4, the Qingming Festival or Tomb-sweeping Day in China, a national mourning was held for the martyrs who died in the fight against the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak and compatriots who died of the disease. During the commemoration, national flags flied at half-mast at Wuling headquarters, and its subsidiaries and power plants. At 10:00 am, all staff on duty observed three-minute silence at the flag towers to mourn for the deceased, while horns of automobiles wailed in grief.
Since the COVID-19 epidemic outbreak in early 2020, Chinese people have rallied closely around the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, and worked together to fight against the virus. At present, the epidemic situation in China is moving steadily in a positive direction. Incomplete statistics show that, more than 200 workers at the front lines, including medical personnel, public security officers, and community workers, gave their lives to consolidate the defensive line to prevent the virus, and safeguard the people.
May our country be safe, healthy, and prosperous!
